Kitchen Sink is a way of describing down-to-Earth gritty reality when applied to drama. So the name Kitching’s Ink has always appealed to me as a way to describe the down-to-Earth gritty reality of having to work for a living while also keeping the name and a description of the work in the title.

Luckily ‘Ink’ still has positive connotations when it comes to writing – it lends a certain gravitas and professional finish to otherwise sketchy work. Even digital work, strangely enough. A word that, so far, has stood the test of time …
